African Burial Ground

During our trip to the Afrcan Burial Ground i learned alot of things about the slaves who lived in New Amsterdam. I learned things like 419 slaves were buried in the African Burial Ground.
The people who were buried in the African Burial Ground were slaves who were allowed to have their own indivdual funeral attended by no more than twelve people who loved them. African American slaves were not allowed to be buried in New Amsterdam. The slaves had to be buried in a swamp like area outside of the city and they were only allowed to go at dusk because slave masters felt that the slaves would try to runaway at night. Slaves were only allowed to do this during a short period of time of 1644-1648. Almost 40% of the slaves buried there were children under the age of 12.
When there was slavery in New York, male slaves had to do construction. Female slaves did domestic work like cooking and cleaning. Slavery didn't end until 1827 in New York.
This African Burial Ground can tell us somethings about Frederick Douglass like what he ate, how badly he had been beaten, and how hard the work was on his bones.
These I learned about are some of the facts I learned about african american slaves who lived in New Amsterdam and was buried in the African Burial Ground.

Brianna-
Excellent job. Make sure you always capitalize "I" when you type and put a line after each paragraph so your essay is easy to read.

I am wondering if you can rewrite your second paragraph to make some of the sentences clearer.

Can you explain the third paragraph better? how can this place help us learn things like that about Frederick Douglass. Your paragraphs should also always have at least 3 sentences (at least when you're writing an essay). You could also add more info to your closing.
